Obituary:
Mrs. Janie JoElla Bond Hanvey, 83, of 29 Cherry Circle, Hartwell, Ga., died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Hartwell Healthcare Center.

Born October 4, 1925 in Elbert County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Omer Bond, Sr and Pauline Morris Bond. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church, Lavonia, GA.

She is survived by: Son, Edgar Hanvey of Jacksonville, FL; Daughters, Anita Martin of Jefferson, GA, Jo Anne Bowen of Anderson, SC, Judy Forrest of Anderson, SC and Peggy Seymour of Hartwell, GA; Brother, Arthur Bond of Tampa, FL; Sister, Betty Childs of Elberton, GA; Thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, William Edgar Hanvey and a Son, Thomas Paul “Tommy” Hanvey.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday May 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell, GA. Rev. David Toulson will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Elberton, GA.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m. The family is at the home of Danny and Peggy Seymour, 116 Cherry Circle, Hartwell.
