Mr. James Dutton, 68, of 80 Snowy Dr, Hartwell GA, died Friday, August 7 at Hart County Hospital.
Born on April 23, 1941 in Anderson Co. SC, he was the son of the late Arthur P. Dutton and Mary Smith Dutton. He was retired from Springs Industries and a member of the Genostee ARP Church, Iva SC.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Haggard Dutton of the home; three sons, Robert Dutton of Iva, SC, Jimmy Dutton of Hartwell and David Dutton of Royston; a daughter, Tracy Gibson of Royston; a step-son, Richard Taylor of Jefferson; two step-daughters, Tina Ivey and Christy Sanders both of Hartwell; a brother,
J. C. Dutton of Hartwell; two sisters, Sue Pearson of Lavonia and Martha Sue Witsel of Royston; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Wayne Dutton.
Funeral services will Monday, August 10 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday night. The family is at the home.
