Obituary:
Mrs. Doris Hagan, age 97 of 259 Shubert Rd, Hartwell GA, died Monday, September 7, 2009 at her home.

She was born March 10, 1912, in Screven County, Georgia, the daughter of Irvin and Lillian Hughes. She was a retired nurse, a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, the Live Wire Sunday School Class and the Lessie K. Page Circle.

She is survived by her daughter, Faye Hagan Ward of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren, Mandy Naser and her husband Randy of Atlanta, GA and Melynda Wakeman and her husband Rufus of Jensen Beach, Florida; great grandchildren, Lauren Naser, Maryna, Jazie and Marlin Wakeman; Sister, Jazie Ingram of Garden City, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wallace Hagan; two brothers, Earl and Jason Hughes; sister, Grace Hagan.

A service to celebrate the life of Doris Hagan will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church. Dr. Allen Stewart and Rev. Jim Winn officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Statesboro, GA, on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 – 10:30 am prior to the service at the funeral home and after the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to Hartwell First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
