Mrs. Barbara Howard Strickland

Mrs. Barbara Howard Strickland, 92, of Calhoun GA formerly of Hartwell passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Morning Pointe of Calhoun. Born on July 30, 1929 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Alvin S. Howard and Vera Stovall Howard. Mrs. Strickland was retired Co-owner & Bookkeeper of OTASCO of Hartwell and an accomplished Water Color Artist. She was also a member of Crane Eater Community Church in Calhoun, GA, and former member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell. Survivors include her two sons: Harry Strickland of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, and Rev. Howard Strickland (Jenny) of Calhoun, GA; one daughter: Karen Brown (Steve) of Bradenton, FL; three grandsons: Mark Brown (Jill), Nathaniel Strickland and Daniel Strickland; two great grandchildren: Alex Brown and Alaura Brown and a sister: Joy Grimm (Ray) of Woodstock GA also survives. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Charles H. Strickland Sr. and a sister: Donna Meulenburg. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes. Graveside services for Mrs. Barbara Strickland will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Howard Strickland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crane Eater Community Church, 3168 Red Bud Rd. NE, Calhoun, GA 30701, or the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, 81 E. Howell St., Hartwell, GA 30643. The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
