Mrs. Hilda Carter Thomason

January 6, 1955 - November 2, 2021

Hilda Elaine Carter Thomason, age 66, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her home. Born January 6, 1955 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Milford Carter and Sara Frances Lewis Carter Maye. Before retirement she worked for Tugalo Home Health. Mrs. Thomason was a member of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Larry Goforth; daughter: Tammy Elaine Thomason; siblings: Bobby Carter, Sr. and Betty Brooks and a grandson: Brandon Thomason. She is survived by sons: Wayne Thomason (Lisa) of Toccoa and Tony Thomason of Lavonia; siblings: Shirley Ann Dove, Karen Carter, Roy Carter, Kenny Carter, and Fay Young; grandchildren: Leslie Vickery (Jay), Phillip Thomason (Allie), Joshua Thomason, Courtney Thomason, Jacob Massey, Johnathan Thomason and Nathan Adams; several great grandchildren and step brothers and sisters also survive. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Ralph Smith, Rev. Dorsey Holmes and Rev. Wayne Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Bowers Memorial Park in Canon. The family will receive friend on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at other times the family will be at their respective homes.
