James William “Jim” Harden, age 75, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. He was born November 23, 1946, in Norfolk, VA, son of the late William and Pauline Austin Harden. He was a graduate of Brown High School and Kennesaw State University. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Navy and the United States Army, before retiring from the United States Air Force. He later retired from the City of Atlanta, working in technical services. Jim was a member of Gordon Street Baptist Church in Atlanta. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Joseph & Martha Harden; and brothers-in-law: LeRoy Brownlee and Gerald Halmark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Polly Brownlee and Jeri-Ann Halmark. Mr. Harden’s request was to be cremated and no formal services are planned at this time.
