Mr. Weldon Dewayne Murray

Mr. Weldon Dewayne Murray, age 38, of Royston, husband of Amanda Wooten Murray, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 18, 2022, after a battle from cancer, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Royston on April 10, 1983, to Glenda Pruitt Harrison and the late John Weldon Murray. Dewayne loved spending time with his family especially his grandkids, he also loved to fish and travel. He is survived by his wife of 17 years: Amanda Wooten Murray; daughter: Kyla Grace Murray of the home; son & daughter-in-law: Jacob Chance (Katelyn) Wooten of Canon; grandkids: Aiden Luke Wooten, Chelcie Leann Wooten & Sawyer Lane Wooten. Parents: Glenda (Billy) Harrison of Lavonia; brothers; Johnny Murray of Villa Rica & Darryl Harrison of Lavonia; sister: Crystal Murray of Lavonia; niece: Skylar Murray and nephews: Cayden Harrison and Bentley Harrison; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his father: John Weldon Murray, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Ruth Wehunt and Monk Pruitt and paternal grandparents: Grover and Florence Hill Murray and in-laws: Wofford and Ruth Wooten, and many aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Gary Stewart and Rev. Tim Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home. The pallbearers serving Mr. Murray will be Johnny Hambrick, Rick Crozier, Austin Crozier, Cayden Harrison, Gracie Murray and William Strickland.
