Obituary
Mr. A. Roy McCurley, age 88, of 480 McCurley Rd, Hartwell GA, died Friday, September 11, 2009 at Hartwell Health Care Center.
Born December 31, 1920 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late William Oscar McCurley and Nancy Myrtice Skelton McCurley.He was retired from Fisher Division of NVF.He was an avid Hunter and Farmer and a U.S. Army WWII Veteran serving in European Theater.
He is survived by:Sons, Jerry McCurley and Larry McCurley of Hartwell, GA; Daughters, Ann Guill and her husband Ray of Fayetteville, GA and Janice Lee and her husband Dillard of Hartwell, GA and a Sister, Myra Cook of Hartwell, GA; Four grandchildren, Tim Guill, Amy McBeath, Marc Johnson and Curt Johnson; Seven great grandchildren, Cody, Crystal, Abbey and Erin Johnson, Erika and Hunter McBeath and Ella Guill also survive.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Ernestine Holloway McCurley; Brothers, Dan, Ed, John, Joel and Tony McCurley; Sisters, Winnie Parrott, Mary McCurley, Dot Moore and Rachel Thornton.
Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.Rev. Tommy Cleveland and Mr. Fred Greenway will officiate.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.
