Mr. Albert Broughton Sanders, 87, of Whispering Pines Road, Canon, GA, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his home.

Born on July 14, 1931 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Charlie P. Sanders and Myra S. Sanders. Mr. Sanders was retired from the maintenance department at the Hart County Hospital and retired with 20 years of service from the U S Air Force. Mr. Sanders was also a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Jan Shirley Sanders; two sons: Richard Sanders and Kenneth Sanders & Lynn all of Canon, GA; two brothers: Frank Sanders and Harvey Sanders both of Hartwell; two sisters: Libby Andrews of Dewy Rose, GA, and Faye Buchanan of Hartwell; and two grandchildren: Haleigh and Brooke Sanders of Hartwell.Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Willie Owen Sanders and Charlie Howard Sanders.

Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be held Sunday, October 7, at 2:00 pm at Flat Shoals Baptist Church with Dr. Wendell Bannister and Rev. Cory Pulliam officiating. Burial will follow in the Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The family is at the home. Flowers optional, memorials may be made the Flat Shoals Meals on Wheels Ministry, 2999 Bowersville Highway, Bowersville, GA 30516.
