Obituary
Mr. Alford Mitchell, age 79 of 362 Honeysuckle Road, Hartwell, Ga., died September 13, 2008 at his residence.
Born March 8, 1930 in Rienzi, MS he was the son of the late Office Mitchell and Elsie Newcome Mitchell. He was a painter and former maintenance man. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by: wife, Ola Robbins Mitchell of the home, sons, Thomas Mitchell and his wife, Jamie of Hartwell, Ga., Timothy Mitchell and Terry Mitchell of Hartwell, Ga., brothers, Leander Mitchell, Booneville, MS, Clovis Mitchell of Mississippi, sister, Esther Johnson of Mississippi. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Cletus and Lester Mitchell and sister, Marjorie Parvins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. President Charlie Sechrist will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening. The family will be at the home.
