Mrs. Alice Phillips Holmes, 73, of 24 Weatherly Homes Dr, Royston, died Friday, April 22 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 19, 1938 in Royston GA, she was the daughter of the late Jep W. Phillips and Dollene Price Phillips.She was a homemaker and a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Huff of Hartwell; three sons, David Bailey and Wade Bailey both of Bowersville and Matthew Holmes of Dewy Rose; four step-daughters, Marlene Haynie and Phyllis Burton both of Hartwell and Joyce Hickman and Connie Bond both of Royston; five step-sons, Hayward Holmes, Blant Holmes and Lawrence Holmes all of Hartwell, Dorsey Holmes of Lavonia and Roger Holmes of Lavonia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband Dock B. Holmes and two sisters, Ruth Franks and Lula Faith Phillips and a brother, Alton Phillips.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Gettis Allen, Rev. Lee Pointer and Mr. David Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at their respective homes
