Alice Harris Mullennix, age 80, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA. Born in Hart County, on June 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James David Harris and Dollie Mae Buffington Harris and the youngest of ten children. She was a 1958 graduate of Lavonia High School.She was of the Methodist faith. She raised her family in the Atlanta area and returned to Lavonia in 2013.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Victor Herbert Mullennix.
She is survived by her daughters: Piper Mullennix Carmichael (Dave) and Nancy Mullennix Huntsinger; sister: Elene Crider; grandchildren: Kait Carmichael, Macon Huntsinger, Griffin Huntsinger, Alex Carmichael, Grayson Huntsinger, and Maddie Huntsinger; great grandchild: Zion Elijah.She is also survived by her stepsons: Scott Mullennix (Hilary), Russell Mullennix (Celine), and Shane Mullennix (Grace) and their families that include six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Strickland Funeral Home with Pastor Inman Houston officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lavonia First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 176, Lavonia, GA 30553.
