Mrs. Alta Ethridge Holbrook, 82, of 4916 Bowersville Hwy., Bowersville, GA, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Hart Care Center.

Born February 21, 1925 in Hart County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Homer Ethridge and Nellie Cole Ethridge.She a former Elementary School Teacher and she retired from Hartwell Mfg as a Supervisor.She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and the Sunshine Club.

She is survived by:Daughter, Gay Martorell and her husband Glenn of Bowersville, GA; Grandchildren, Wendi Hinson and Kelli Davis; and one great grandchild, Alison Bowen.She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Herschel Clark Holbrook; and two sisters, Retha Temples and Virginia Vickery.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Cross Roads Baptist Church.Rev. Ben Coleman will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Monday night from 7 to 9:00 p.m.The family is at the home of her daughter, Gay & Glenn Martorell, 4916 Bowersville Hwy., Bowersville, GA.
