Mrs. Althea Florence (Sarkinen) Whitman, age 53, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born April 16, 1963, in Cape Cod, MA, she was the daughter of Althea Shynk and the late John Sarkinen. She was a licensed LPN with Brown Health & Rehab and the Pruitt Corporation. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother; husband: Ralph Whitman; son: Gary Sarkinen; step daughters: Gale Hunt and Kathy Jones; sister: Barbara Douglas; and 3 grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church 250 Pleasant Grove Road Lavonia, GA 30553
