Mr. Alton Howell, 78, of 9 Twin Cove Dr, Hartwell, GA, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Hart Care Center.
Born January 14, 1932 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Gordon Howell and Nora Eaves Howell.He was a self employed Carpenter; a member of Oak Bower Baptist Church and retired with 35 + years from Hart County Fire Department Central Station.
He is survived by his Wife, Sylvia Robertson Howell of Hartwell, GA; Daughter and her husband Tammy and Joey Emmons of Hartwell, GA and Two granddaughters, Thea Emmons and Tessa Emmons.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Sister, Louise Reynolds; Brother, Columbus Howell and a half Brother, AP Greenway.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Tommy Cleveland and Rev. Ken Brewer will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel Thursday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home of Tammy and Joey Emmons, 57 Twin Cove Drive, Hartwell.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to the Charity of One's Choice in Memory of Alton.
