Amanda Delores (Hutcheson) Lumley, age 87, of Bowman, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens.

She was born January 2, 1937, in Truetlen County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Charles Matthew Hutcheson and Mary Elizabeth Stavely Hutcheson, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a homemaker and ministers' wife, she along with her late husband ministered in the Church of God. During their ministerial career, they pastored several Church of God congregations, including Oconee, Sandersville, Statenville, Attapulgus, DeGroat Street, Price Chapel, and Trion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Benjamin James Lumley: son: Perry Lumley; great-granddaughter: Braylee; and siblings: Lois Beasley, Evelle Beasley, Louise Beasley, Marvin Beasley, Dot McNair and Charles Hutcheson.

She is survived by daughters: Celia Rhodes (Earl) and Lisa Lumley; sons: Joel Lumley (Ann) and Chris Lumley (Shannon); daughter-in-law: Bobbie Lumley; grandchildren: Pam Gorff (Brian), Jay Lumley (Brandi), Ashley Lumley, Catie York, Emily Shubert (Zach), Avery Lumley, Matthew Lumley, Nathan Lumley, Michaela Lumley, Abbi Lumley, Benjamin Lumley, Grant Rhodes (Tricia), and Brandon Rhodes; and great-grandchildren: Kendra, Brenden, JamiLynn, Arianna, Preston, Isabelle, Wyatt, Holden, Zoey, Kiara, Blair, Maddie, and Finley.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. At other times the family will be at the home.
