Mrs. Charity Ann Fernald Collins, 80, of Golf Course Road, Hartwell, passed away March 6, 2016, at her home.

Born on July 28, 1935 in Lansing, MI, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Fernald and Kathryn Prosser Fernald.Mrs. Collins was a home maker and a member of The Way Church.She also was a member of the Hartwell Ladies Golf Association and the Chaplin of the WOW – Women of The Way.

Survivors include two daughters: Cindy Moon and her husband Johnny of Statham, GA and Barbara Gray and her husband Junior of Bowersville; two sons: Brad Collins and his wife Lucille of Ellijay, GA, David Collins of Gainesville, GA; one step-son: Charles Meason and his wife Sharon of Buford, GA; two brothers Scott Fernald and Barb of Oh., James Fernald & Fran of PA; four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Walter V. Collins, Jr.; step-mother: Lillian R. Fernald and one stepson: Walter Skipper Meason.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016, 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jim Carey and Rev. Lee Smith officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.
