Ann McCall Moore, age 88, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the home of her daughter, after a brief illness.
Born September 19, 1937, in Asheville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Avault McCall and Mary Elizabeth Virginia Ballard McCall. She was a graduate of Charles D. Owen High School in Swannanoa, North Carolina.
Ann had a lifelong passion for creativity and used her talents for crafting, decorating, and design to make the world around her a little more beautiful. An entrepreneur at heart, she owned and operated her own business where she sold BeautiControl Cosmetics for 35 years. Over the years, she also sold jewelry, clothing, and accessories and used her creative talents to provide custom clothing decoration, in Hendersonville, NC and downtown Lavonia.
Ann was a classy lady who always dressed to the nines. She loved people, enjoyed making others feel special, and brought her own sense of style and creativity to nearly everything she did. While she dearly loved her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her family extended far beyond blood. She was affectionately known as “Granna” to many others who loved her as their own.
She is survived by her children, Lyle Dean Wilkerson, Jr. (Anna), Vicki Lynn Wilkerson Stroupe (Alan), and David Todd; grandson, Seth Austin Medlin (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Silas, Sophia, Lucas, and Jordan; and sister, Sandra McCall Martin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert James “Jim” Moore; father of her children, Lyle Dean Wilkerson, Sr.; siblings, Larry McCall (Trudy) and Joan McCall McGuire (Gerald); and brother-in-law, Ray Martin.
In accordance with Mrs. Moore’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to honor Ann’s memory plant a tree—a lasting and beautiful tribute to a woman who spent her life making the world around her more beautiful.
