Dereathus Ann Morgan Thomas, age 76, of Martin, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born January 9, 1947, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Cullen & Ara Loggins Morgan. She worked as a machine operator for Champion Tools. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter: Angel Morgan Fields; a granddaughter: Anna Cantrell; and siblings: Barbara Alewine, John Morgan, Ray Morgan, Samuel Morgan & Terry Morgan.

She is survived by her husband: Johnny David Thomas; children: Kenneth Cantrell, Michael Thomas & Savannah Busby; grandchildren: Roman Coon, Zach Fields, Morgan Fields & Emily Cantrell; siblings: Nancy Blakely & Darlene Jackson; 4 great grandchildren and her faithful companion: her cat Paisley.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North with Ronnie Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 p.m. At other times the families will be at their respective homes.
