Mrs. Melinda "Ann" (Shackelford) Thurman, age 56, of Lavonia, died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at her home.
Born June 30, 1960, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late: Milton and Linda (Gentry) Shackelford. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Lavonia Church of God.
She is survived by her sons: Brandon McKern of Starr, SC and Mickey Thurman of Lavonia; grandchildren: Kaden McKern and Emalie McKern; and sister: Daphne Shackelford. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Steven Thurman; and sisters: Debbie Richey and Jackie Jones.
Mrs. Thurman's wishes were to be cremated. The family will plan a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
