Mrs. Margie Ann (Seawright) Ward, age 67 of 619 Turner Road, Elberton, Ga., died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at AnMed Health Campus.

Born August 28, 1941 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Cleora Gaines Seawright. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by: daughter, Rhonda M. Ward Carnes and her husband Jeff of Starr, S.C., brothers, Baron Seawright, Hartwell, Ga., Joel Seawright, Hartwell, Ga., Ronnie Seawright, Hartwell, Ga., Jerry Seawright, Iva, S.C., sisters, Carole Williams, Royston, Ga., and Jeannette Coile, Hartwell, Ga. Grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Lucas Carnes also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Swift Ward, brothers, Larry, Bill, Tom and Jim Seawright and sisters, Jean Duncan and Frances Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hartwell Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Stowe will officiate. Burial will be at the Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Elberton, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250 Dallas, TX 75244

The family will be at their respective homes.
