Mrs. Anna Virginia (Derr) Uphoff, age 90, of Lavonia, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at her home.
Born September 26, 1918, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. & Teresa (Boedecker) Derr. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Uphoff was a homemaker and a member of the Toccoa Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William A. Uphoff, Sr.; brother: Daniel W. Derr; and grandson: Richard E. Uphoff.
She is survived by daughter & son-in-law: Norma & Wendell Duck of Lavonia; sons & daughters-in-law: William A. & Joan Uphoff, Jr. of Pasadena, MD and Richard & Phyllis Uphoff of Westminster, MD; grandchildren: Vicki Fountain, Steven Kifer, Lora Day, Charles Kifer, & William A. Uphoff, III; and twenty great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Addis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin County Senior Center or the Toccoa Church of God.
