Mrs. Anne Haney Murray, age 84, of Lavonia, wife of the late Bill Murray, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Anmed Health Medical Center.
Born August 16, 1931, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Effie (Hamilton) Haney. She graduated high school in Habersham County. She worked for many years as an LPN for Dr. Fedack in Jonesboro, GA. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Becky Cole and Terrie Ferrell (Pete); brother: Brady Haney; sisters: Ethel Crawford (Al) and Stella Cathey; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepson: Daniel J. Murray.
The memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Owensby and Rev. Josh Harvill officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 1333 Pleasant Hill Road, Martin, GA 30557.
