Annie Ruth Bowers Madden – age 73 of 44 Golden Oaks Drive, Hartwell, died December 10, 2007 in Charlotte NC

She was born June 11, 1934 in Hartwell, Georgia to Seaborn Ellis and Susie Lillie Carnes Bowers.She married Daniel Edgar Madden, Jr. on February 5, 1955. She retired from Hartwell Elementary in 1996, and she will be remembered always as a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Milltown Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Sanders Sunday School class.


Surviving are son and daughter-in-law: Jack and Kristi Madden of Marietta, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law: Janice and Bruce Mumpower of Matthews, North Carolina; grandchildren: Christopher and Danielle Mumpower, James Daniel Madden, Joshua Stephen Madden and Joy Qian Madden; sisters Ruby Nelle Tucker, Carolyn Reid and Frances Faulkner all of Hartwell; brothers George Bowers of Hartwell and Thomas Bowers of Conyers, Georgia. She was preceded in death by husband: Daniel Edgar Madden, Jr., parents: Seaborn and Lillie Bowers; brothers: Arnold, Dennis, Derwood, Judson and James Bowers, and sister: Eula Mae Thrasher.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Eaves officiating.Interment will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at the home. Flowers are optional.Memorials may be made to Milltown Baptist Church.
