Mr. Arlan "Jerry" Wood, 83, of Lavonia Highway, Bowersville, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on January 10, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas Watson "Brattie" Wood and Louise Holcomb Wood.Mr. Wood was a Heating & Air supervisor for Hussmann Corp. for 20 years. Mr. Wood also enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1961 and stationed in Fort Jackson, SC, and was honorably discharged in 1967 in Doraville, GA. Mr. Wood loved to put puzzles together, and he was a member of the Mt. Olivet Church of God.

Survivors include two sons: Jerome Wood (Cindy) of Deatsville, AL, Kenneth Wood (Jennifer) of Hartwell, GA; one daughter: Amanda Ruelas of Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Herman Wood (Peggy) Bowersville, GA, Dale Wood (Linda) of Bowersville, GA; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Kenneth Wood.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times the family will be at the home of Herman & Peggy Wood, 2504 Lavonia Highway, Bowersville, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. "Jerry" Wood will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wayne Durden and Rev. Gary Ledford officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery.
