Mr. Arthur M. "Mann" Sanford, 75, of 939 St. James Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, February 3 at his home.

Born on October 2, 1937 in Travelers Rest SC, he was the son of the late Ernest W. Sanford Sr. and Martha E. Cornwell Sanford.Mr. Sanford was retired from the construction industry and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Elberton GA.Mr. Sanford was a former charter member of the Hart County Key Club; selected for "Outstanding Young Men of America" in 1968; Past–President and former member of the Hart County Jaycee Chapter; selected "Outstanding Local Jaycee member in 1964 and 1968; chairman for four years of the Hart County Fair; a life member of the Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps; former member of U.S. and World Jaycees; 1963 U.S. and World voting delegate, Nassau Bahamas; 1970 U.S. and World voting delegate, Honolulu Hawaii; former Treasurer for three years of the Hart County Chamber of Commerce.Mr. Sanford was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, Hartwell GA; Fred E. Lee Chapter #86, Royal Arch Masons; Philemon Commandery #33, Knights Templer and Yaarab Temple, Order of the Mystic Shrine, Atlanta GA

Survivors include three brothers: Ernest W. "Willie" Sanford of Atlanta, John K. "Ken" Sanford of Rutherfordton, NC and Charles L. Sanford of Hartwell; a sister: Janis S. "Jan" Murray of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Van Rownd officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Masonic rites.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at their respective homes.
