Mrs. Audrey Walters Gibson, 81, of Bowersville, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Hart Care Center.
Born June 18, 1935, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Stella May (Ramey) Walters. Prior to retirement she worked as a seamstress at Hartwell Garment Company. She was of the Church of God faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Horace Lee Gibson; son: Darrel Gibson; sister: Claudine Burdette; and brothers: Ronald Walters and Marlin Kelley.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Charlene & Bruce Haddock and Connie & Tommy Patterson; sisters: Marcean Gaddis and Pamela Dove; brothers: Reggie Walters and Paul Walters; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Chitwood and Mr. David Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
