Mrs. Avis Elton Bailey Boles, 86, of Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Hart County Hospital.

Born on March 9, 1922 in Hart County Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Berry Champion Bailey and Edna Gertrude McCurley Bailey.She was a homemaker.She was a member of Oak Bower Baptist Church and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.

She is survived by:Sons, Hugh Leslie Boles and his wife Jan Parker Boles of Lavonia, GA, Rev. Paul Edgar Boles and his wife Miriam Stovall Boles of Charleston, SC; Four grandchildren, Lance Parker Boles, Landy Champion B oles, Paul Michael Boles and Jonathan William Boles; Two great grandchildren, Madelyn "Mattie" Grace Boles and Soren Tucker Boles.She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Hugh Dorsey "Pete" Boles; Brothers and Sisters, Leo Bailey, W.C. Bailey, Beatrice Inez Bailey Hill, Ank Notley Bailey, Maude Agnes Bailey, Millie Idell Bailey Crump, Amy Lois Bailey Crump, Marvin Otto Bailey and Ethel Nitta Bailey McCurley.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Oak Bower Baptist Church.Rev. Edgar Boles and Rev. Tommy Cleveland will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Bower Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel.The family will receive friends at the church following the service in the front foyer.The family is at their respective homes.Memorials may be made to Oak Bower Baptist Church, 1589 Old 29 Hwy., Hartwell, GA30643
