B D Segars, age 89, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home.
Born January 27, 1932 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Holman and Fannie Segars. He retired from Masters Furniture Company, where he worked as supervisor. He was an experienced auctioneer, having owned and operated his own company. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Segars was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law: Edward & Wanda Segars; daughters & sons-in-law: Gwen & David Ward, Janice & Jimmy Herring, and Cathy & Maurice Carter; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Doris (Thomas) Segars; brothers: Bill Segars, Olen Segars, Ralph Segars, Evander Segars, and Buford Segars; and sisters: Mert Hill and Willella Jordan.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the service.
