Mrs. Barbara Deloach Burgess, age 74 of 208 Foxtail Dr., Hartwell, Ga., died Friday, March 28, 2008 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson.

Born on March 5, 1934 in Roanoke, AL, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Clifford Deloach and Voncile Stewart Campbell.She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend.She volunteered with the Hart County Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: Sons, W. Michael Burgess of Rock Hill, SC and Mark G. Burgess of Savannah, GA; Daughter, Rebecca Burgess Kelley of McDonough, GA; and sister: Mary Ellen Yarbrough of Savannah, GA and grandchildren: Mary Leigh Burgess, Greg Burgess, Drew Burgess, Erin Burgess and Amanda Kelley.She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace H. Burgess; and brother, George S. Deloach.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and again from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the Hart County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1062 Hartwell, GA 30643.
