Mrs. Barbara Ann Thacker Smith, 66, of Azalea Drive, Hartwell, loving wife, mother, and grandmother died peacefully with her family at her side, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at her home.

Born on November 4, 1945 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Thacker andGertrude Sullivan Thacker.Barbara was a homemaker, a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a member of the Bible Seekers Sunday School class.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Smith; one daughter, Sherry White and her husband Hooty of Hartwell; two sons: Joey Smith and his wife Amber of Hartwell, and Scott Smith and his wife Lisa of Hartwell; one brother, Donnie Thacker of Anderson, SC; one sister, Juanita Love of Anderson, SC; eight grandchildren: Ashley Isbell, Jodie Greer, B.J. Smith, Dusty Smith, Whitney Smith, Madison Smith, Grace Smith and Alex Smith; three great-grandchildren: Brianna Isbell, Jeremy Isbell and Landon Smith.Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Daniel Thacker.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black, Rev. Ben Coleman, and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.The body will be placed in the church at 10:30am.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at the home.
