Mrs. Barbara Jean Alewine Wyres, 73, of 98 Springdale Drive, Hartwell, GA, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at her home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Hart County, GA, March 5, 1935, the daughter of Linnie Hill Alewine of the home and the late Clarence Alewine.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Carson and Angie Cleveland of Dewy Rose, GA; Grandsons and wife, David Cleveland of Dewy Rose, GA, Michael and Candace Cleveland of Royston, GA, Grand-daughter, Cassie Cleveland of Dewy Rose, GA; Great grandchildren, Riley Cleveland of Dewy Rose, GA and Lana Cleveland of Royston, GA; Brothers, Wade Alewine of Hartwell, GA and Ray Alewine of Rock Hill, SC; Sister, Linda Whitfield of Hartwell, GA; andby Special Friends, Kathy and Jimmy Elrod of the home.She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence; infant sister Mary Nell and son, David.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Eddie Simmons and Rev. Dan Bailey will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
