Mrs. Beatrice Smith "Bea" Harmon, 85, of Forest Ave, Elberton, formerly of Hartwell, went to be with her lord and savior Wednesday, June 03, 2015 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.
Born on May 1, 1930 in Greensboro GA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Smith and Ethel Noggle Mullins.Mrs. Harmon was retired from the Hartwell Elementary School Lunchroom, a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, the Mae Lilly McCurry Circle and supported the Fortsonia Baptist Church of Elberton.
Mrs. Harmon is survived by her two daughters: Cindy W. Craft and her husband Steve of Elberton and Holly H. McWhirter and her husband Evan of Royston; three brothers: C.G. Smith of Tucker GA, Joe Ben Smith of Eatonton GA and LeRoy Smith of Lexington GA; a sister: Julia Brooks of Lansing MI; two granddaughters: Claire C. Young and her husband Paul and Abbey Craft and a great-grandson: Asa Logan Young also survives. Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: William Patrick Williamson; second husband; Wistar Harmon and a sister; Kathryn Smith.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Al Butler officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 Thursday prior to the service. The family is at their respective homes.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Fortsonia Baptist Church, 2616 Washington Hwy, Elberton, Georgia 30635.
