Beatrice Ann Wood, age 78, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at AnMed Health.
Born January 11, 1942, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William Wood and the late Artie Mae (Nix) Wood. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Lavonia. Mrs. Wood will be remembered for her kind, gentle spirit. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Teresa Chitwood; son: Wendell Wehunt; grandson: Patrick Chitwood; great-grandson: Benjamin DiCara; brother: Roy Wood; and sisters: Elease W. Peeples, Ruby Chastain, Ruth Wooten, Gatha Blackwell, and Edna Cape.
She is survived by her Daughter: Wendy Norton (Wesley); sons: Danny Chitwood, Doug Chitwood, and Angelo DiCara; sisters: Jean Wilbanks and Mildred Turner; brothers: Rayford Wood and Preston Wood; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Jesse Eleton and Rev. Ricky Goff officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to defray funeral expenses.
