Mrs. Rebecca S. Kotal, 72, of Bethany Bowersville Road, Hartwell, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born on February 3, 1942 in Icard, NC, she was a daughter of the late Allen Stewart and Minnie Holland Stewart.She was a retired LPN and a dairy farmer. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband: Ralph Kotal of Canon; one son: Chris Kotal of Canon; two daughters: Kimberly Bragg and husband Michael of Waldorf, MD and Joanna Ray and husband Randy of Canon; five grandchildren and great-grandchild; one brother: Tommy Stewart of Woodlawn, Tenn., and one sister: Ona Evans of Royston.Mrs. Kotal was preceded in death by her two brother Roby Stewart and James Stewart.

Funeral mass will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Hartwell.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The family are at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens GA30605.
