Mrs. Belle Baker Stone, 84, of 1809 Beacon Light Road, Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born January 12, 1922 in Hart County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Pete A. Baker and Susie Fleming Baker and the step daughter of Mabelle Bradley Baker. She was retired with 47 years of service from American Laundry.She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Her survivors include: Husband of 67 years, Harold B. Stone; Sons; Clifford L. Stone and his wife Carol of Keystone Heights, FL, Larry A. Stone and his wife Irene of Greenville, SC, and Hugh D. Stone and his wife of Becky of Canon, GA; Brother, George Baker and his wife Willie Grace of Hartwell, GA; Half sister, Polly Farmer; Sister-in-law, Maryree Thompson of Hartwell, GA; Nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.She was preceded in death by parents; brother; Otis Baker and five sisters, Dee Phillips, Lois White, Dora Phillips, Ruby Walters and Blanche White and grandson, Harold Van Stone.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.Rev. Joe Black, Rev. Ron Suttles and Brother Adam Stone will officiate.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Friday night from 7 to 9:00.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
