Mr. Bennie Mack Eberhart, age 91, of Lavonia, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home.
Born August 14, 1925, in Pine Bluff, AR, he was the son of the late William Benjamin Eberhart and Sadie Pearl Redden. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and the Oklahoma National Guard. He graduated from the Spartan School of Aeronautics and retired from Lockheed-Martin as an Aeronautical Engineer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Edith Maxine Livingston Eberhart (married 1945-1973); second wife: Mary Lynn Morrison Eberhart (married 1978-2016); and sister: Louise Eberhart Reid.
He is survived by his children: Tom & Karen Eberhart, David Eberhart, Carol & Jeffrey West, and Mark Eberhart & Callie Loser; grandchildren: Julie Ferguson, James West, Benjamin West, Andrew Eberhart, Margaret West, Ryan Eberhart, and Dustin Eberhart; and great-grandchildren: Emma Eberhart, Noah Eberhart, Alice Ferguson, and Sam Ferguson.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service.
