Mr. Bennie W. Hicks, 76, of Charlotte Lane, Bowersville, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson.

Born on December 31, 1940 in the Rock Branch Community of Elbert County, he was the son of the late Grady Hicks and Maude Davis Hicks.Mr. Hicks was retired from Monroe/Tenneco Auto Equipment Company. He was also a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church and the New Faith SS Class.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Anne Hall Hicks, a son: Michael Hicks & his wife Kayla of Hartwell; a daughter: Kathy Reed & her husband Stanley of Hartwell; two brothers: Bill Hicks and Horace Hicks both of Starr SC; a sister: Geneva Seigler of Bowersville; a grandson: Brandon Reed & his wife Tiffany and three great-grandchildren: Lydia, Aisa and Abby also survive. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Thomas Hicks and Alton Hicks.

A memorial service celebrating Bennie's life will held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Pulliam and Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church. The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, 2999 Bowersville Hwy, Bowersville GA 30516.
