Mr. Bennie "Ben" Sanders, 63, of 236 Wood Hollow, Canon, loving husband and father, died peacefully Saturday, Oct 20, 2012 at his home.

Born on November 25, 1948 in Homer, GA, he was the son of Lydia Wilson Sanders. Bennie was the warehouse manager at Athens Hardware and attended New Franklin Christian Church.

Survivors include his mother; his wife, Lynn Bradley Sanders; two sons: Eric Sanders and his wife Stacey of Bowersville, and Steven Garner of Bowersville; one brother, Lee Sanders and his wife Janie of Watkinsville, GA; two sisters: Caroline Rice and her husband Steve of Winterville, GA, and Annis Carlton of Stockbridge, GA; and five grandchildren: Erica Sanders, Carter Hunt, Anna Hunt, Madison Garner, and Brandon Garner.Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Cowart.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at New Franklin Christian Church with Rev. Carl Beckham officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home. Flowers are optional or special memorials can be made to New Franklin Christian Church, 4244 New Franklin Church Road, Canon, GA 30520 .
