Bennie Lee Terrell

Mr. Bennie Lee Terrell, 70, of Hartwell, passed away peacefully Friday, September 4, 2026 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, Athens GA.

Born on July 3, 1956 in Atlanta GA, he was the son of the late Gibbs Terrell and Betty Shaw Terrell. Bennie was a self-employed electrician and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers: David Terrell (Sherry Ghrist) of Hartwell and Charles Terrell of Toccoa; two sisters: Vanessa Knowles (Aaron Brown) of Gainesville and Bonnie Terrell of Bowersville.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Gail Monroe Terrell and a sister: Sharon Sorrow.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bennie Terrell will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Elmore officiating. Burial will be in the Georgia Memorial Park, Marietta GA.

Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church, 4359 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
