Mrs. Bernice Weaver Pressley, 90, 981 Frank Crook Rd, Canon GA, died Saturday, August 21 at St. Mary's Hospice House, Athens GA.

Born August 28, 1918 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Luke Weaver Sr. and Neila Hilley Weaver.She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, WMU and Joy Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha J. Pressley of Lawrenceville; two sons, Larry Pressley and David Pressley both of Royston; a brother, Luke Weaver Jr. of Canon; five sisters, Eunice Ray of Canon, Ruby Nell Brown, Delree "Bill" Cleveland and Nina Bryson all of Hartwell and Peggy Kay of Canon; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Pressley was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Pressley; a brother, Howard Weaver and a sister, Elizabeth Kelley.

Funeral services will Monday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Britt Ginn officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, PO Box 396, Hartwell, GA30643.
