Mrs. Betty Jean Woody Carver, 67, of Heritage Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens.

Born on July 3, 1951 in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Woody and Sarah Correll Woody.Mrs. Carver was retired from Columbia Farms and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: James D. Carver; one son: James H. Carver and fiancé Teri Turpin of Atlanta; one daughter: Crystal Bailey and her husband Steven of Lavonia; two brothers: Jerry Woody of Hartwell, James Woody of Royston; three sisters: Doris Donald, Barbara Woody both of Hartwell, and Linda Thorne of Canon; one grandchild: Marissa Bailey and two step-grandchildren: Dustin and Logan Bailey.Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Bobby Joe Woody. .

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. David Toulson, Mr. Henry Freeman and Mr. Thomas Carver officiating.Burial will be in the Zidon Baptist Church Cemetery in Royston, GA.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Friday evening.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation, 82 Orchard Park Dr., Greenville, SC 29615.
