Mrs. Betty Ruth Evans Shaw, 90, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.

Born on November 11, 1931 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Dunnie Evans and Pearl Ashworth Evans. Mrs. Shaw was a CNA for Hart Care Center and a member of Oak Bower Baptist Church. Her passions were crafting, craft shows, working her flower garden, crocheting, baking cake, and cooking especially. She loved giving her works away. But what she loved most of all was seeing her grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandchild. Seeing them lit up her eyes.

Mrs. Shaw is survived by her three daughters: Catherine Shaw of Hartwell, Wanda Human (Roger) of Royston, Joyce Ann Shaw of Lavonia; four grandchildren: Jena Thompson (Cory) of Danielsville, Keelan Carey of Hartwell, Hannah Shaw and Haley Shaw, both of Lavonia; great grandchildren: Madisyn Human of Hartwell, Brayden Strickland of Royston, Cooper Carey of Royston; and one great-great grandson: Jaxton Moon of Hartwell. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Billy H. Shaw; four brothers: Howard, James, Broadus, and Carey Evans; and four sisters: Lois Greenway, Leona Morgan, Claudine Smith, and Hazel Smith.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Shaw will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
