Mrs. Betty Jane Moorhead Foster, 78, formerly of Placid Cove Dr., Hartwell, died Saturday, May 31 at Bell-Minor Home, Gainesville GA.

Born on January 29, 1930 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Jim Smith Moorhead and Ruth Temple Moorhead.She was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Co., member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Forever Young at Mt. Olivet and the Joy Club at Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: James Edward "Pete" Foster of Gainesville; two sons: Michael Gene Foster and his wife Gail of Flowery Branch and James Neal Foster and his wife Priscilla of Thomson; three brothers: Gene Moorhead and Jimmy Moorhead both of Hartwell and Robert Moorhead of Anderson; four granddaughters: Jennifer Brooke Daniel, Miranda Claire Willingham, April D. Foster and Kimberly Lewis; four great-grandchildren: Tucker Lewis, Rylie Lewis, Mckinley Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Daniel also survive.Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Daniel Temple Moorhead.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black officiating.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at their respective homes.
