Obituary

Ms. Betty Vaughn Gray, 75, of Petersburg Towers, Elberton GA, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home.

Born on September 19, 1940 in Royston GA, she was the daughter of the late George Vaughn and Thelma Moore Vaughn.Ms. Gray was a shipping coordinator at ISOLA of Athens and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her two daughters: Joann Moon and her husband Bobby and Debra Gray all of Elberton; two sons: Junior Gray and his wife Barbara and Dale Gray and his wife Sandie all of Hartwell; two brothers: Lamar Vaughn and his wife Martha of Murphysville NC and James Vaughn and his wife Martha of McCaysville NC; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.Ms. Gray was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Janie Hicks and two brothers: Ernest Vaughn and Charles Vaughn.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating.The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692
