Mrs. Betty Jean Andrews Culpepper Harrell, age 76, of Lavonia, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born June 6, 1935, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Cleo (Mouchet) Andrews. She owned and operated Jean's Junction in Lavonia for many years. Prior to retirement she worked as a CNA at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Lee Harrell; brother: Charles Andrews; and great-grandson: Jacob Hanley.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Mike & Sandra Culpepper and Bill & Debbie Culpepper; daughters and sons-in-law: Cheryl & Steve Hanley and Becky & Jimmy Bowers; step-daughters: Tammy Roberts and Michele Black; grandchildren: David Hanley, Greg Hanley, Jay Culpepper, Jenna Culpepper Benge, Jason Culpepper, Kevin Culpepper, and Scott Bowers; brothers: Leon Andrews and Tyler Andrews; sisters: Carolyn Norris and Johnny Sue Mauldin; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
