Mrs. Betty Jean (Stanley) Hutchins, age 73, of 360 Sewell Road – Lavonia, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born August 30, 1934, in Chester, SC, she was the daughter of Jessie Vearl (Tinker) Stanley and the late Cecil G. Stanley. She was a master cosmetologist and owner of Fairview Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Lavonia Church of God, where she served as the church pianist and was active in the music department.
She was predeceased by her father and a sister: Carolyn Jane Suggs.
Survivors include her mother; husband: Tech Sgt. Loy McKinley "Buddy" Hutchins; sons and daughters-in-law: Barry & Hollie Hutchins of Powder Springs and Donaloy & Jenny Hutchins of Marietta; daughters and sons-in-law: Letha & Jack Campbell of Kennesaw, Rhonda & Dennis Harris of Canton, and Nita & Paul Parker of Kennesaw; brother: Gerald G. Stanley of Bowman; sister: Donna Herring of Gainesville; grandchildren: Michael & Christin Hutchins, Heather Hutchins, Brandon & Nancy Hutchins, Lindsey Hutchins, Chris Kattner, Adrienne Kattner, Stephanie & Wayne Fuller, and Kristina Parker; and great-grandchildren: Emma, David, & Rhett Hutchins, Tori Hutchins, and Tagan Fuller.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson, Mr. Donaloy Hutchins and Mr. Paul Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lavonia Church of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 110 – Lavonia, GA 30553.
