Mrs. Betty King Bowen, 83, of 215 Mudman Road, Hartwell, GA, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, SC.

Born on September 22, 1929 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Otto King and Edna Williams King.Betty was retired from Hartwell Mills where she worked as a Battery Filler and was also a member of Hartwell Church of God.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie B. Hayes of Hartwell; and a sister, Vernette Cleveland of Hartwell; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dallas Edward Bowen; one daughter, Vickie Fagan; one brother, Bruce King; and one sister, Faye Cleveland.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Brown and Dr. Donald Little officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at the home of Angie and David McLane, 980 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, GA.
