Mrs. Betty Davis Kirkland, 84, of Ray's Road, Lavonia, formerly of Atlanta, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Hospice Atlanta, Atlanta, GA.
Born on November 22, 1933 in Swainsboro, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ouince L. Davis and Pretty Mae Shape Davis. She was an executive secretary for Buster Brown Shoes and of the Baptist faith. She also was involved with her son's activities as they were growing up.
Survivors include two sons: Keith Kirkland of Lavonia and Craig Kirkland and Kelly of Tucker, GA; six grandchildren: Suzanne K. Flowers and Dante', Christy Kirkland, Drew Kirkland, Hunter Kirkland, Davis Kirkland and James Kirkland also survive. She was the last surviving member of her siblings.Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband: Charles G. Kirkland; one brother: Soloman Davis; four sisters: Mildred "Bill" Moore, Grace Kalb, June Williams and Jackie Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Danny Nelson officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atlanta Hospice, 1244 Park Vista Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
