Mrs. Betty Ann (Bates) Klein, age 77, of Kingsland, GA, formerly of Lavonia, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Camden Medical Center.
Born February 22, 1933, in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of the late William & Edith (Combs) Bates. She was a retired registered nurse with Hospice of Citrus County, FL and was member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Walter John Klein, Sr.; and brothers: William G. Bates & Frank Edward Bates.
Survivors include sons: Charles D. Klein, Sr., Walter John Klein, Jr., and Timothy Brian Klein; brother: Richard Thomas Bates; sisters: Edith M. Bates Sutton, Alice June Bates Allen, Ethel Marion Bates Williams, & Diane Marie Stephens Alverino; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jason DeFoor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
